Gokyo Lake and Everest Base Camp Trek follows listed Natural world heritage sites, Home to the famously friendly Sherpas friends of Mountains, the Khumbu region boasts some of the most extraordinary high mountain scenery on earth. After flying in to Lukla, our exciting trek to Everest Base camp takes us via the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar to the sacred lakes of the Gokyo Valley. Here, we ascend Gokyo Ri which is one of the finest vantage points for Mount Everest (8848m./29035ft.). Crossing into the Khumbu Valley by way of the high and challenging Cho La (5420m./17780ft.), we then climb to the ‘trekkers summit’ of Kala Patar (5600m./18370ft.) which affords more stunning views of Everest and of the astonishing Khumbu Icefall. We have time to walk up to Everest Base camp, before trekking out by way of the famous and recently restored monastery at Thyangboche. This circuit of the Everest National Park provides a comprehensive taste of the Khumbu that is hard to beat within a 3-week adventure.

Itinerary

While you arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Our office representative awaiting you in front of arrival lounge showing yours name Card, transfer to Hotel, we offer complimentary dinner at Hotel 7-8 pm, meet other participants to discuss about trip, Hotel B&B.

After Breakfast, Explore Culture tour in Kathmandu, that is includes Boudhanath Stupa perhaps biggest in world's, Monastery, Pashupatinath Temple, Hindu's holiest temple and Patan Durbar Square and Swoyambunath situated on hillock of Kathmandu from entire Kathmandu Visible and amazing Stupa with its beautiful arts. Hotel B&B.

An early start for the dramatic flight through the mountains to Lukla. After lunch we have a short trek to our first night's halt at Phakding (2610m).

Following the Dudh Kosi Valley upstream, we cross and re-cross the river before making a final steep climb to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar (3440m).

Acclimatisation around Namche. Hiking options include a short, steep climb to the Everest View Hotel, or a longer day visiting the Sherpa town of Thame.

Leaving Namche we trek via the Sherpa villages of Kumjung and Kunde to Kangjuma (3620m).

We are the mountain top overlooking Mt Everest & the Gokyo Valley which is the main drainage for the glaciers of Cho Oyu (8201m).

The trail climbs steadily up valley on forested hillside and through open pasture. There are several refreshment halts en route to our Dingboche (4465m).

Acclimatisation day at Dingboche or Spend a night at Chukkung. day trip to Chukkung.. It is possible to climb quite high on the nearby ridge for magnificent views of Everest and Makalu.

Today we climb past the first and second of couple through damp pasture lakes to reach Lobuche alt 4800m. Fit party can walk from Chukkung to Lobuche crossing Crossing Kongma la Pass 5540 m, in Same day.

Through Khumbu Glacier Dramatic Views of Mt. Nuptse & Pumori, Climb Kalapattar, visit to Everest base overnight Gorakshep.

An Early Start for Cho La Pass 5320 m, A big day crossing the Cho La pass (5320m) and descending to the yak grazing area of Tangnang (4830m).

Trek to Gokyo 2 hrs, check in Hotel/Camp Climb Gokyo Ri 5320 m, Visit Glaciers & Lakes.

Trek Down to Dolle along the beautiful Valley, overlooking Views of Amadablam, Tyngboche Monastery.

Trek to Namche Bazar along Doodh Koshi River, you may have opportunities to meet hundred of Yaks herd, carrying Goods to Nmache From Tibet.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How long do we walk every day trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for trekking?

It depends on you. It can be done also independently. But we suggest you to hire a guide and a porter. Not having a guide can be a little problematic during the trek.

It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.
